I need to know how to stop snoring: snoring is ruining my relationship with my wife! Why do men snore so loudly? I wish that I could just stop snoring but I don’t know where to look for help. Does snoring fall under the category of sleep disorders? I’ve heard of this site called MySnoreWorld.com , but last time I tried to look the site was under construction. Please help me stop snoring or find some snoring cures or snoring solutions!

I have been on mysnoreworld.com and it’s a great site for anyone who wants to learn about snoring, how to stop snoring, talk about snoring with other people who snore etc. They have snoring product reviews and forums and everything. I am a frequent visitor (my husband snores very loudly and sometimes it is tough to deal with!) and I have never seen it under construction… must have been a fluke.

Anyways, the first tip you should know about how to stop snoring is that you should never sleep on your back. Snoring is caused because the throat muscles relax and drop down into the open air of your throat, so the air trying to get past the blockage of your throat muscles is what makes the snoring sound. They have products that hold your jaw up, and breathe right strips open up the air passageways in your nose so you can breathe through there instead of your throat.

its really embarrassing, and last year i didn’t go to the school trip because of my snoring. im only 13 years old. my brother and my dad snores too, apart from my sister and mum. i probally got it from my dad. ive been reasearching, nothing helped. i sleep on my side. i sleep with mouth closed. im not overweight, i dont smoke, i dont drink. i do basicly everything what i reserached said. the only thing i learnt was not to eat late at night. plzz tell me some proper excises which i can do with my throats or necks or somthing like that, ive got a trip comming up and i really want to go. i may have sleeping apnea, but if theres a way to cure dat then tell me now!!!! PLLZz som1 with some proper answers plz help me!!!! lol im desperate

Most people snore occasionally, some because they are overweight (the fat compresses on the throat and makes it hard for the air to travel through the windpipe) some because the tongue slips back blocking the opening to the windpipe (this is usually caused when you sleep on your back)
so if you are overweight – hit the gym, if not you can sew a golf ball into the back of your PJ tops so you won’t lie on your back, if you happen to roll over in the night you will just roll back again, your body will get used to not sleeping on your back and eventually you just won’t do it.

You can always go to the doctor and get checked out to see if there’s any medical problems.

I am supposedly a very loud snorer and have been getting worse since my partner and i have been together. just wondering if anybody knows, other than the surgery, is there a way to stop myself snoring?

Surgery? No, don’t go with that. There are far easier and less painful ways to do it. One method which I’ve tested personally and haven’t found to be so much effective is trying to fall asleep while say up on a chair or on the couch. Then I started looking for some cheap products or solutions that can support my chin while I’m asleep so that my breathing canals stay open and I don’t snore at the same time. Currently I use this one which I provided for you in the resource box. You should try it, because it seems to work for me.

Millions of people suffer from snoring and they are trying to find a cure. Additionally, there are lots of people who are not aware that they may have got a mild case; however your significant other might be alert. When they’ve really told you that it sounds like you’ll stop breathing in your rest, you could bet that you’ve got some degree with apnea; so that you can benefit from one of the sleep apnea remedies that are available nowadays.

Curing a snoring is often as simple since doing the next:
• Never sleeping on your own back – Sleeping on your own side is the ideal sleeping posture. If you have difficulty sleeping on your side, you may want to spend money on bedroom pillows which advertise side resting.
• If you are a cigarette smoker – You may want to think about stopping the habit since it does interfere with the lungs and your breathing. This is, possibly, one of the most successful remedies.
• Stay away from alcohol – Alcohol consumption right before sleeping may cause sleep apnea.
• Begin exercising – Individuals who are overweight are more likely to have sleep apnea. If you exercise and eat well in order to reduce weight, you may naturally remedy the condition in a lot of circumstances. When you exercise, you’ll eventually inhale much better and will improve your circulatory system, also is essential in making certain you inhale properly.

Yes, it is totally possible to stop snoring without medication: as simple as eating a teaspoon of honey or olive oil right before you go to bed can be enough to lubricate your throat and stop your snoring.

If it seems like you have tried every home remedy in the book and nothing has worked, don’t give up. It simply means that you need to move onto something more – like a special stop snoring device or a trip to the doctor.

My hubs snores so loud, I can’t sleep. What is causing him to snore like this and is there a cure for snoring. Can it be that he his slightly over weight? I am a light sleeper so any noise will keep me up all night. Between my dog and my hubs I don’t know who snores the loudest. I have pinched his nose moved him to sleep on his side but the snoring continues and gets louder. I keep telling him to go see a doctor and let them do a sleep study test because sometimes he stops breathing then continues breathing. I can see his stomach working so hard when he sleeps. I was thinking of getting ear plugs but I like to be able to hear my daughter if she cries. Any suggestions to help me with this agonizing problem will be appreciated.

The causes of snoring: Identify the cause to find the cure
Have you ever sneezed one day from allergies then sneezed another day from a bad cold? Snoring is like that. In other words, not all snoring is the same. Everyone snores for different reasons. When we get to the bottom of why we snore, then we can find the right solutions to a quieter, deeper sleep.

Being overweight or out of shape. Fatty tissue and poor muscle tone contribute to snoring.
Alcohol, smoking, and medications. Alcohol intake, smoking (or second-hand smoke), and certain medications, increase muscle relaxation leading to more snoring.
Sleep posture. Sleeping flat on your back causes the flesh of your throat to relax and block the airway.
Snoring and sleep apnea
Snoring could indicate sleep apnea, a potentially life-threatening condition that requires medical attention. Sleep apnea is a breathing obstruction, causing the sleeper to awaken to begin breathing again. A person with sleep apnea wakes up many times a night to regain breathing, but usually doesn’t remember it. Serious risks of sleep apnea include sleep deprivation, oxygen deprivation, and depression.

Read: Sleep Apnea

Don’t let snoring damage your relationship
Is snoring causing a riff in your relationship? No matter how much you love each other, lack of sleep can strain a relationship and put your health at risk. Though some snoring is harmless, other times it can indicate poor quality sleep as well as critical health problems such as sleep apnea.

Sharing a bed is one of the greatest pleasures of a romantic relationship because it fosters intimacy and closeness. Bedding down for the night should be a pleasant part of the evening that you and your partner look forward to. However, snoring can create a huge relationship roadblock because it prevents this joint end-of-day ritual. When snoring is a problem, relationship tension grows in the following ways.

Sleeping alone. If your partner snores, you might decide to sleep alone. That only makes for a lack of physical intimacy and a strained relationship. And if you’re the one snoring, you might feel lonely, isolated, and frustrated about something you feel you can’t control.
Snoring spats. It’s common to be irritable when lack of sleep is an issue. But try reining in your frustration. Remember, you want to attack the snoring problem—not your sleep partner.
Partner resentment. Partner resentment can grow when a non-snorer feels they do everything possible to sleep through the night (ear-plugs, noise-machines) but their partner does nothing to combat their own snoring. Working as a team to self-remedy will prevent future fights.
If you value your relationship, make it your priority to solve snoring so you can sleep together. Think of it like this: the way you and your bed buddy handle a snoring problem is a sign of the strength of your relationship. Working together to stop snoring can be an opportunity to improve the quality of your bond and become more connected. Troubleshoot to stop snoring
So you’ve tried different sleeping positions and you still suffer from noisy nights? Try the following self-help tips.

Lose weight. Losing even a little bit of weight can reduce fatty tissue in the back of the throat and decrease snoring. See Healthy Weight Loss Your Way for some tips on getting started. Exercise in general can help because toning arms, legs, and abs inadvertently leads to toning muscles you don’t see in the throat, which leads to less snoring.
Clear nasal passages. Having a stuffy nose makes inhalation difficult and creates a vacuum in your throat, which in turn leads to snoring. You can do it naturally with a Neti pot or try nasal decongestants or nasal strips to help you breathe more easily while sleeping.
Quit smoking. If you smoke, your chances of snoring are high. Smoking causes airways to be blocked by irritating the membranes in the nose and throat.
Establish regular sleep patterns. Create a bedtime ritual with your partner and stick to it. Hitting the sack in a routine way together can promote better sleep and therefore minimize snoring.
Keep bedroom air moist with a humidifier. Dry air can irritate membranes in the nose and throat.
Reposition. Elevating your head four inches may ease breathing and encourage your tongue and jaw to move forward. (Tip: go pillow-free or try a specially designed pillow to make sure your neck muscles are not crimped).

Hello
Does anybody know if there are any tried and tested cures for stopping snoring.
My girlfreind snores and even though its not her fault, it drives me crazy ,well her as well as im constantley wakeing her up to stop her from doing it. Please we need some help here!!
Cheers
From C

Snore Zip is an all-natural, homeopathic oral spray designed to help alleviate the symptoms that may be causing you to snore, so you and your partner can get the benefits that come with getting better quality sleep.

For more information see:http://myhealthbuystore.com
For most people, snoring is not a major problem, and most people snore at least occasionally. Men and overweight people are more likely to snore and snore more often. The frequency and intensity of snoring will likely increase with age if not dealt with at an earlier stage.

Snoring is caused when there is a narrowed passageway between the nose and the throat. The passageway narrows because the muscles in your throat are more relaxed when you sleep. When inhaling oxygen while the passageway is narrowed, air will have to move faster than before, and will hit the tissues of the soft palate and the uvula with more force causing vibrations which in turn create snoring sounds.

Causes of Snoring

There can be many causes to why one snores when they sleep, anything that causes the air passageways to narrow will likely cause snoring.

Substances that promotes muscle relaxation such as alcohol or drugs that promote drowsiness will cause your throat muscles to relax thus narrowing the air passageway and also causes the tongue to relax and fall back limit the air passageway thus encouraging snoring.

Snoring can be brought on by a stuffy nose which can be brought on by a cold or sinuses. When one’s nose becomes stuffy, less air can go through the nasal passage so the throat has to pull air in through the mouth with extra force, which will in turn cause snoring.

The physical makeup of your body can be a cause of one’s snoring problems; if one is overweight there will be more fatty tissues in the throat which means a narrower air passageway. Also if one has a long uvula and/or soft palate will also cause a narrower air passage and an increased likelihood of snoring. Other physical characteristics which may bring about snoring include large adenoids and large tonsils, a long tongue, a small lower jaw or a deviated nasal septum.

Asthma and/or smoking can also increase the chance of one snoring due to the irritation and constriction of the air passageways which is brought about.

Sleeping on your back makes one more likely to snore because gravity pulls the tongue and jaw down to the back of the mouth and limits the air passageway.

Hi, I have taken paxil since 2005 when I had a serious depressive episode. During that episode, I did not sleep for a good 2 months. I also think during that bad episode, I developed sleep apnea. I was 140 lbs during that time. I remember telling my husband that I could not sleep because I would wake up gasping for air. Now, after being on paxil for 3 years, I am ok, overweight, (210), I do snore according to family and spouse, and if I forget 1 dose, the next night, I wake up gasping for air. When I do take the paxil, I no longer forget to breathe. Do you think it could be the weight that has made me snore or have the apnea? Or could it be the paxil that has made me have sleep apnea? When I take the paxil, I do not dream, I usually sleep well and get rested for the most part. When I miss one dose, I seem to remember my dreams, I feel so tired. I am thinking of doing a drastic weight loss so I could stop the snoring. Like go from 210 t0 130. I wonder if it would cure the snoring?

Being overweight is linked to snoring. I believe that has been medically proven. There is a machine that your insurance will pay for that will correct your sleep apnea. I am assuming you are thinking gastric bypass??? You should definitely consult some doctors about your ideas. I am going by people in my life, books I have read, shows I have watched, journal articles I have read, and my opinion! I strongly believe that being overweight can lead to sleep apnea. I know it leads to snoring and making the snoring louder. The machines for sleep apnea are available. Best of luck to you. I send you much congrats on getting control of the depression. Kudos to the Paxil!

A more comfortable bed works. Or, a more comfortable pillow. If he’s a smoker, it’s an uphill battle. A little aerobics would be nice.

My husband’s snoring is awful… so noisy it wakes me up each and every night. You can hear in all around the house. I am 24 weeks pregnant and seem to disappear off to the spare room each night!

It may sound funny but it really isn’t. I want to sleep with my husband in the same bed and cant at the moment and worry i will never be able to especially when the baby comes..

Does anyone have any experience about snoring cures. We asked the doctor but they just gave him a spray which doesn’t work. He does smoke which drives me mad (not in the house I hasten to add), and I am nagging him to stop, and I know this only makes it worse. Has anyone tried the mouth guards (not sure what you would call them). They cost quite a bit and I’m reluctant to fork out for them if they done work….

Please help….. sleep needed!

Hi Awww i feel sorry for you, i know what this is like before my husband and i separated he snored all night every night very loud and i was so tired because of it. I do not know if you are in UK, but Ormskirk Hospital have been doing an injection it was on the North West news and it stops snoring, and the best thing is it only costs around £4.00 and lasts for over 12 months ask your doctor if your husband can have it. There are the breathe right strips that open the nose, but apparently it’s something in the back of the throat that causes it. I reaaly hope that you can get some sleep soon.
