my cat stopped eating two days ago but then started and was acting fine until a couple hours ago she didnt eat her dinner, wet or dry food, and now she has mucus or drool coming out of her mouth, its slimy and clear, and it just hangs there or is on the outside of her mouth, and now she has the tip of her tongue sticking out and she looks very tired and hasnt moved…does anyone know whats wrong with her?? what it is? should i take her to the emergency room or wait?? PLEASE HELP!!
oh and also she makes noises, veryyy low but its kind of like a weezing or snoring..HELP!
i took her to the vet…it turns out she has a fever of 104 and the reason she was drooling and had her tongue sticking out was to cool herself from the fever and he gave her 2 shots and anti biotic for 4 days…thanks for your answers…hopefully she’ll be better.
This almost sounds like something that happened to a cat my grandmother had a long time ago.
He had some sort of infection in his mouth. He was drooling/foaming at the mouth and obviously not eating. The drool even had a putrid odor to it. She took him to the vet. It took maybe 15 minutes. He gave him a shot of an antibiotic (I think). On the way home the infection starting clearing up and Smokey was eating right after we got him home.
I suggest you get her to the vet IMMEDIATELY. Find an all night vet if you can. If not, a local vet should have an emergency number.
Don’t worry about Yahoo Answers until you’ve at least gotten her to the vet. The time you spend on here is time you need to spend getting her to a doctor.

your cat is sick, taker her to the emergency room asap

she needs to go to an emergency vet, ASAP. she may have been poisoned…she may not make it thru the night if you wait, especially with labored breathing. im not trying to be mean or scare you, im just trying to make sure you understand this cat is sick, and needs vet attention now.

Don’t wait. Take her in now. Cats crash very quickly when they stop eating. That alone is cause for concern. The drool and wheezing are also not good.

The mucous you speak of could very well be because she is feeling nauseous. Cats often drool and have excessive saliva production when they are feeling nauseous. We had a sick cat who sadly had to be put down 4 weeks ago from Feline Leukemia Virus, who got like this when during her bouts of sickness. She started to get sick intermittently and had bouts of eating normally for a day or 2, then would be very lethargic and sick for about 8 hours, over a period of 3 weeks. She was eventually found to be very anemic and had a very low blood platelet count. We tried to treat her but she never recovered. You should take her to the vet straight away just incase she has ingested something she shouldn’t have or has some other illness. She won’t have a chance of recovery if you don’t!!

Did you treat her or your house with any over the counter flea or tic products? They sometimes have fatal reactions, especially with cats, corresponding to these symptoms.
